Lennonheads is derived from the Irish word ‘Lennon’ meaning; last name of owner Jeanne Lennon and ‘heads’ meaning apparatus above shoulders containing hair. Lennonheads does not mean;

And has no direct Link to John Lennon,

We have been in business since 1990 having an alias of Jean Byford Salon for many of those years. Following a change in partnership we held a contest to rename the salon. Most of the names were very serious and one went on the board as a joke. Everytime I read through the list, ‘Lennonheads’ made me smile. In business today, you have to differentiate yourself from the mass. We do great hair. We do great customer service. But mostly, we have a lot of fun with our customers and with each other. You’ll know it the minute you enter our doorway. We look forward to knowing you.

ABOUT JEANNE, HEAD LENNONHEAD

You know whenever you read a bio, it is really written by whomever it’s about. So I’m not going to pretend that someone else studied my fascinating life. I want to share with you some of my more impressive achievements. Here goes in order of importance.

After 10 years, I figured out how to put together a group of 20 plus women who like and respect each other. Have you ever worked with a lot of women? This is my finest hour.

Pamela Fasone, manager, teacher, best friend. I’ve managed to keep this incredible person by my side for over 10 years. Her unwavering dedication and loyalty has made Lennonheads the success it is today. What this means for you is that if you would ever have any problem, you just call Pam and she’ll handle it. (You can call me with the good news.)

I met Keri Sant. She is a teacher at Deshler elementary school. I cried at the stories she shared with me. These kids are from a poor neighborhood. They don’t have school supplies and sometimes if you give them a coat to wear, one of their parents may sell it for drugs. We adopted the school and try to help all year long. This has been most rewarding.

I went to beauty school in 1979. Decided that I couldn’t do hair so I went on to OSU and graduated with a marketing degree in 1984. (By the way, I later learned no one knew how to do hair.) After graduation. I went to work for Clairol Corp. for 5 years. In 1987 I won the Lawrence M. Gelb award for outstanding sales and was the youngest person ever to be promoted to manager in the company. I moved to Dallas, Texas. Do you know what I learned next? You can be great in sales and not know a darn thing about managing people. I worked hard at it for three years, but felt I wasn’t cut out for management (and honestly the bugs grossed me out). I decided to move home and open a salon. You are not going to believe this, but when you own a salon you still have to manage people. I have the greatest team. It took a long time, but I think I finally learned how to manage them.
